What kind of car was the 1956 Monarch?
This particular one is a 1948 survivor. Emulating the looks a cheaper car likely has never been a wise strategy so by 1956 the Monarch was still using the Mercury chassis and body shell but looked a lot less Ford like in trim and distinctly more Mercury like.
How are my 1956 Mercury Monarch Phaeton 4 HTS?
I have 2 1956 mercury monarch lucerne phaeton 4 dr hts. they both have the number 357b yet I cant find any others. plus one of them has less chrome on the rear and more on the front and has a less fancy key covering. the yellow runs but the salmon grey doesn’t both are in pretty good condition Gilbert Bureau 21-Apr-2015 23:59

We have a 1956 Monarch Richelieu Phaeton that we would like to sell & have a couple of questions. It is a 4 Door Hardtop, very rusty, but complete – except for missing radio. All the Chrome is intact & v. good condition. The 312 4 barrel turns over.

Where do I Find my 1956 Mercury Monarch Richelieu?
My Grandfather took his ’53 all the way to Windsor to pick up his ’56 Richelieu. Then they drove it all the way back to Arrowhead, BC, along Rt. 66. The servicing dealership was Valley Ford, Penticton, BC. The car resides in Spokane, Wa. with my cuz, and still operates. Not sure if the radio does, tho!

(2) FORD MONARCH MADE IN CANADA “ONLY” IT IS A MERCURY THAT WS DRESSED IN CANADA USING CANADA CLOTHES EG CHROME THIS AND THAT ANS TRIM HERE AND THERE EXCLUSIVE TO THE MONARCH ONLY.
