Where did the Elephant Bell from India come from?
The object I have chosen is an Elephant bell from India. It was my Grandfather’s, pictured here, who, with his family were part of the expatriate community who made up the “Raj” in India before the Second World War. He was Police Commissioner in Shimla.

Antique Large Cast Bronze Karen Hill Tribe Elephant Bell, Thailand. The top of the bell features a design of curlicue hearts. The bell is unmarked, but research suggests that this bell would have been made in the early 1900s.
